Begin Again
By now you may have discovered that all roads do not lead to God and life is not as easy as you once thought! For those who are at this crossroad, the Bible offers a new direction, one filled with purpose, fulfillment and acceptance. Here is how you can take the first steps down this road:
- Recognize that you are a sinner. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
- Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sin."God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21)
- Turn your life toward God."Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out" (Acts 3:19). The Christian life involves a turning from and a turning to. Only by choosing to live for God can a person be a Christian.
To receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you could pray the following prayer:
Lord Jesus, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever believed, but through you, I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared to hope. I thank you for paying my debt, bearing my punishment and offering forgiveness. I turn away from my sins and receive you as Savior and Lord. Amen.
